Most, if not all, of the people I saw at the zoo were either couples or families with children. I don't doubt that there are areas that are probably unsafe, but I guess we were lucky this time. There are guards in the gardens but they do not go to the back either due to safety concerns...at least that is how it was last year when I was there.
